Monday, as part of the final phase of the qualifiers for the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), counting for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup France 2018, our young Grenadières after winning the victory against the host country Trinidad & Tobago [3-2] https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23321-haiti-news-zapping.html then Saturday against Costa Rica [3-2] https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23332-haiti-fifa-u-20-world-cup-our-grenadieres-take-the-lead-in-group-a.html have suffered Monday, January 22 at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva (Trinidad & Tobago) a severe defeat against Canada [4-0]

In the perspective of the meeting with Canada but especially for the crucial semifinal for Haiti already qualified with its two previous victories, which will be played Friday, January 26, the national coach Marc Collat made 9 changes in the usual starting 11.

A choice that will allow the team to rest and protect the players from possible injuries and also highlight the others to be able to use them as needed. Only Ruthnie Mathurin and Tabita Joseph were selected among the regular players.

Starting lineup against Canada :

Naphtaline Clermeus - Taina Gervais - Tabita Joseph - Ruthnie Mathurin - Flero Dina Surpris - Dolores Jean Thomas - Magdala Macean - Danielle Étienne - Betina petit Frère - Melissa Shelsie Dacius - Rachelle Caremus.

On the bench : Kerly, Rosianne, Emeline, Naphtalie, Melchie Daelle, Nelourde, Sherly, Roseline, Nérilia.

However, these changes did not allow Monday our Grenadières to avoid the debacle against the Canadian women. In the first 18 minutes Shana Flynn tripled and scored 3 goals for Canada [3-0]. Despite their efforts, our national team struggles to take control of the game. At half-time the score is still [3-0] in favor of Canada. At the return of the locker room nothing done, dominated by Canada, our young Grenadières fail to fill the gap, which is growing in the 81st minute by a shot from the Canadian Tanya Boychuk [4-0] which will be the final score of the first place devoting the first place in Group A to Canada.
